Local, Organic and Homegrown The garden at Piebird Bed and Breakfast , from which Heal Thy Health draws nourishment from is in full gear--gorgeous dill, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, parsley,cilantro, green beans, peas. Delicious! Our main focus is healthy food and growing it ourselves is the only way we can ensure its quality. What we can't or haven't grown ourselves, we harvest from our neighbours, friends and local farmers, choosing local first to support our community. We always choose Canadian whole grain spelt flour for our baking; soon we will grind the kernels ourselves in our own mill, just a couple more months for the new kitchen to be really complete and the old kitchen becomes our giant walk in pantry! Our workshops and personal cooking sessions have grown naturally from the love of learning from experimenting and teaching by example. The personal menu plans, lunch and dinner menus are all vegetarian and very adaptable for people with special diets for arthritis, diabetes, celiac and other conditions. A diet that focuses on vegetables, whole grains and fruits is the most nourishing diet on the planet--and cultures that eat plant based diets are disease free and healthy. You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy a vegetarian meal- Join us for one of our delicious whole food feasts! Our feasts are by reservation for 6 to 10 people and are served in the century old dining room of Piebird Bed and Breakfast .
