Osteoporosis- The magnesium & protein connection
Osteoporosis- The magnesium & protein connection

DID YOU KNOW that magnesium is essential for your body’s absorption of calcium? We are encouraged to consume calcium-rich dairy products to reduce our risk of osteoporosis, but dairy products contain absolutely no magnesium!

Also, the protein molecules in cows milk are designed just for calves — and studies are now showing that this protein actually interferes with human’s ability to absorb calcium from milk. Excess protein intake, especially incompatible protein, has been linked to many health concerns from allergies to obesity.

If you are worried about calcium intake, just make sure you are eating an abundance of fresh vegetables and whole grains. The usable calcium and protein content in most whole grains is remarkably higher than any dairy product and is free of saturated fat!
